He hasnt been a head coach, so hard to tell what his priorities are or how everything will be run. If its a copy of Roy Williams, then the ceiling is relatively low for them.

He's a decent recruiter, though youd want better results for a program like UNC. They should be winning some battles against Duke/UK/Kansas. As a talent evaluator hes been hit or miss. Carolina is a program that will compete for the top prospects but should most definitely land any second tier players they want. If he plans to be there a while, then taking guys like Justin Taylor and Tyler Nickel is a very good move, because they can be excellent role guys until they move into being "the guy" later in their careers, they both have high ceilings. But they would also be a move away from the type of athletes UNC has recruited before.

So...TBD? Ill be interested to see which recruits he prioritizes and also how the on the court results translate from whatever his philosophy is...he did already take Will Shaver, who isnt as highly recruited as some other bigs UNC could have, so maybe thats a message they want to be better talent evaluators or they just really liked Shaver...who knows
